<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://willisfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/136_144200.jpg" alt="Lillian Pearl Rose" />Lillian Pearl Rose with her family at her side; peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, May 22, 2013.  She was born August 29, 1930 at Bidwell, Ohio, the daughter of the late Albert and Gladys Casto Rhodes.

Lillian is survived by her husband, Walter Daniel Rose whom she married on June 26, 1948 at Gallipolis, and their children:  Dottie Roviscane of Gaston, South Carolina, Irene (John) Warner of Oregon, Wisconsin, Russell (Heidi) Rose of Gallipolis, Ohio, and Chris Rose (and his companion, Michelle) of Gaston, South Carolina; and a brother, Clifford Rhodes of Gallipolis, who was raised in her home.

Other brothers and sisters surviving are:  Ralph Rhodes, Talmadge “Bub” (Faye) Rhodes, both of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Mary Taylor and Evelyn Clark of Gallipolis, Betty Tope of Middleport and Gertrude (Paul) King of Jacksonville, Florida.

Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter-in-law, Lori Watson Rose and her former son-in-law Paul Roviscane. 

Lillian was a retired LPN and homemaker and was a #1 Grandma and Great Grandma.  She attended Northup Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Chapman officiating.  Burial will follow in Bethesda Cemetery, State Rt. 775.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, May 24, 2013 from 6-8 pm.  In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Lillian’s name to Holzer Hospice 100 Jackson Pike Gallipolis, Ohio or to Bethesda Cemetery Fund C/O David Carter 7009 State Route 775 Patriot, Ohio 45658. Violet E. Parsons, 81, of Gallipolis, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the Pleasant Valley Hospital, Pt. Pleasant,West Virginia.

She was born March 11, 1932 in Mason County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Wiley and Betsy Crump Coleman.  Violet married Franklin S. Parsons and he preceded her in death on November 17, 1987.  She retired from the Gallia County Court House, where she worked in Maintenance Services for 11 years.  She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers.

Surviving are her daughters, Carolyn (Larry) Groves and Debbie (Harold) Barcus, both of Gallipolis; her sons, James (Joyce) Parsons of Crown City, Clifford (Sandra) Parsons of Bidwell, Richard (Darlene) Parsons of Gallipolis and Randy (Tina) Parsons of Patriot; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruby (John) Doss of Crown City and Betty Sias of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; and a special pet dog Buttons.

Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin S. Parsons, a sister Juanita and two brothers, Donald and Junior.

Services will be 1:30 p.m., Sunday, May 26, 2013 at the Willis Funeral Home with Chaplain Bob Hood officiating.  Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, May 25, 2013 from 6-8 p.m.

Lisa D. Queen, 48, daughter of Erma Barcus Adkins and Charles A. and the late Maxine Queen, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at her residence
at Middleton Estates.

She was born July 28, 1964 in Gallipolis, Ohio.  Lisa attended Dickey Chapel and Macedonia Churches. 

Surviving are her mother, Erma Adkins of Gallipolis and her father, Charles A. Queen of Crown City; sisters, Sue (Don) Casey of Bidwell, Linda (Gary) Viddish of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Judy (Robert) Roher of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Sharon (Scott) Howell of Bidwell; stepsister, Pamela (Ervin) Hart of Leon, West Virginia; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lisa was preceded in death by her two brothers, Timmy Brent Queen and Charles Queen Jr. “Chuckie”, and her stepmother, Maxine Hazel Queen.

Services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley and Pastor Philip Walker officiating.  Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery.  Friends may call on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 6-8 p.m.

Billy Joe “B.J.” Lambert, 31, of Gallipolis, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013
at the Holzer Medical Center Emergency Room.  

He was born September 2, 1981 in Gallipolis, son of the late Richard “Rick” Lambert and Connie Shaver Lambert who survives him.  He was a laborer and an equipment operator.

B.J. is survived by his mother, Connie Lambert of Gallipolis; his fiancé, Amber Phillips; a daughter, Lilyann Phillips; a sister, Loretta (Jason Adams) Lambert of Gallipolis; a brother, Randy (Alice) Lambert of Gallipolis; his grandfather, James G. Shaver Sr. of Gallipolis; nieces, Brandy Lambert and Makayla Lambert; nephews, Daniel Gillenwater and Jordan Spires; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to his father, Rick Lambert who died December 2, 1995, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Marybell Lambert, his maternal grandmother Marjorie Shaver and paternal grandparents Charles and Mary Lambert.

Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Willis Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Rife Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 6-8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Danny Gillenwater, Luke Boster, Daniel Gillenwater, Josh Shaver, Keith Pugh and Tommy Pugh.

Paul Roger “Buck” Montgomery, 78, of Gallipolis, Ohio went to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at his home and with his wife, sons and the Rev. Ralph Workman at his side.

He was born on March 5, 1935 in Eureka, Ohio, son of the late James W. and Ethel Lanthorne Montgomery.  He was preceded in death by a brother James Montgomery, Jr., and a son Michael Hill and three half siblings.

Buck is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Evelyn Montgomery, three sons Paul (Janet) Montgomery, Jeffrey (Connie) Montgomery both of Gallipolis, and Frank (Beth) Rutherford of Pataskala; one sister Catherine Little of Gallipolis, eight grandchildren, Sherry Large, Dustin Montgomery, Corey Montgomery, Maria (Greg) Young, Ben Hill, Amanda Shepard, Jessica Rutherford, and Joanna Jackson,, 4 great grandchildren, special friends, Clifford and Norma Stevens, daughter-in-law Tammy Montgomery, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

After being honorably discharged from the Army in 1958, he worked at Union Barge Line; then for the US Army Corps of Engineers, where he retired in 2007 after 31 years of service.  He was a member of the Sons of Legion Post 27, American Legion Post 27, Men’s Auxiliary VFW Post 4464 and AMVETS.

A private service will be held a later date.  Willis Funeral home is in care of the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers the family request donations in Buck’s memory to Holzer Hospice.

Newberry, 77, of Patriot, went to be with the Lord at his residence, holding hands with his wife of 56 years and surrounded by his loving family on Monday, May 6, 2013.

He was born November 12, 1935 in Mason County, West Virginia, son of the late Robert and Velma McCarty Newberry.  He married Jieniece Wandling Newberry on January 26, 1957 in Pt. Pleasant, WV and she survives him.  Leonard was a farmer and a Southwestern District bus driver for 30 years.  He attended Faith Community Chapel for 40 years.

Leonard was a member of the chain gang at Southwestern football games for over 30 years.  He was a supporter of the Rio Grande  Women’s Basketball and Softball.  He was a past member of the Gallia County Fair Board and Gallia County Farm Bureau.  Leonard was “Farmer of the Year” of Mason County and Gallia County.  He was also past president of OPSEA for the Southwestern District.  

Surviving are his wife, Jieniece Newberry of Patriot; a daughter, Lynnita (Will) Edmonds of Flatrock, West Virginia; two sons, Mark Newberry  and Dale (Danella) Newberry of Gallipolis; four grandchildren, Kalee Edmonds, MacKenzie Newberry, Logan Edmonds and Karlee Edmonds; two step grandchildren, Drew and Abby VanSickle; three sisters, Alberta Fry of Flatrock, West Virginia, Ruby Stover of Akron, Ohio and Bernice (Lewis) Woomer of Florida; two brothers, Robert Junior Newberry of Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia and Harry Newberry of Columbus, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by a sister, Geneva Newberry and five brothers, Lawrence, Elmer, Delmar, Walter and Clayton Newberry.

Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 10, 2013 at the Willis Funeral Home with Rodney Roberts officiating.  Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 5-8 p.m.

She was born September 3, 1965 in Waukegan, Illinois, daughter of the late George L. and Kay Johnson Triplett, who survives her.  Lisa was a lab technician for Blacktop Industries, Mountain Enterprise, and West Virginia Paving/Shelly Company.   She was a member of Victory Baptist Church.  Lisa enjoyed hunting, fishing, and all things outdoors.

Surviving are her mother, Kay Triplett of Crown City; two sisters, Sandra Adkins of Scottown and Kim (Brian) Nolan of Crown City; a brother, Justin (Tessie) Triplett of Glendale, Arizona; nephews, Jaylan Nolan currently serving in the U.S. Army at Fort Leonard  Wood, Missouri, Jared and Bryce Nolan of Crown City, and Brendon Triplett of Glendale, Arizona; special friends, Connie Wilson, Mike Rossiter, Jeff Fowler, and Kim Cade.

Lisa was preceded in death by her father, George L. Triplett on January 31, 2011, an infant sister, Teresa Lynn Triplett and her grandparents.

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://willisfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/136_143155.jpg" alt="Jacklyn Rudd Killen" />Jacklyn Rudd Killen, RN, BSN, OCN, died Sunday May 4th at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV due to complications from COPD. She was 77 years old. Jackie was born in Frankfort, KY and raised in Ashland, KY. Jackie was known as having a passion for life and overcoming obstacles with a stubborn tenacity, Jackie died as she lived: With a dogged determination that would never recede. She died with her body completely spent and broken and clinging to life with every last fiber of her being. Well done good and faithful servant!
Jackie worked at Holzer Medical Center for 25 years until she retired at the age of 72 as a Registered Nurse, a calling that defined her and for which she dedicated her spirit. Over the years she worked in Pediatrics, Nursery, and Oncology where she was certified by the Oncology Nursing Society and Pain Management. As a Pain Management expert she was one of the first Pain Management Nurses to receive the Ohio Pain Initiative &quot;Excellence in Pain Management Award&quot; in 2002.
As a broken sinner she accepted a relationship with Jesus many years ago and was a charter member of New Life Lutheran Church in Gallipolis. She was also a member of the Pythian Sisters and the Oncology Nursing Association. 
She was preceded in death by her husband Freddie, her parents, Marco and Johanna Schmidt Rudd and Pauline Vowell-Eslick. 
She is survived by her son Mark Killen and his wife Teresa, her granddaughter Ashton, her siblings Johnda Sue (Al) Pintor, Jimma Ann Rudd McKendree, Ackford (Donna) Eslick, Carol (Ron) Hale and Danny Moreau. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Willis Funeral Home in Gallipolis, Ohio. Graveside Rites will begin at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2013 with Pastor Jimmy Dale Perry officiating at Golden Oaks Memorial Garden in Ashland, KY.  
The family will graciously accept flowers, however, they are asking that you consider making a donation to the Cabell Huntington Hospital Children&#039;s Hospital in Jacklyn’s memory.

She was born March 6, 1921 in Brent, Kentucky, daughter of the late John and Rowena Rose Hall Bush. Nora was married to Samuel Glover and he preceded her in death on April 30, 1973.  She worked at Holzer Hospital in housekeeping and also at Christy Ann Restaurant in the kitchen as a cook.  Nora was a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union. She enjoyed traveling, Bible reading and family time.

Surviving are her seven daughters, Doris Martyn, Wanda Marchi, Carolyn Johnson, Linda Newell, Brenda Smith, Judy (Paul) Byus, all of Gallipolis, and Cathy (William) Rotert of Circleville, Ohio; four sons, David Glover of Gallipolis, John (Teresa) Glover of Richmond, Virginia, Chuck (Diana) Glover of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Mike Glover of Gallipolis; 33 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; and 13 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Samuel Glover, Nora was preceded in death by a stillborn daughter  Debbie, two granddaughters, Vanessa Halley and Jackie Leach, one grandson, Tommy Angel, two brothers, Charles and David and two sisters, Ruby and Ethel.

Services will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 5, 2013 at the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Gallipolis with Pastor Robert Isaacs officiating.  The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery.  Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Willis Funeral Home.

Joe was born December 15, 1935 in Crown City, Ohio, son of the late Aaron and Nancy Sheets Thompson.  He married Corena McGuire and she survives him.  He was a retired millwright at Kal-Can.  Joe was a member of First Baptist Church of Gallipolis, and he served as a deacon at four other churches, Grove City Baptist Church, Victory Chapel, Hilliard Baptist Church and Providence Baptist Church.  He was also a 50 year member and past master of West Gate 623 F &amp; AM Masonic Lodge, West Gate Chapter and West Gate Council, and an honorary member of Ohio Valley Masonic Lodge #536.

Surviving are Joe’s wife of 58 years, Corena Thompson of Gallipolis; four sons, Robert Joseph Junior (Brenda) Thompson of Gallipolis, Mark (Candy) Thompson of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Hal Curtis (Jakee) Thompson of Columbus, Ohio, and Paul Elder (Corinne) Thompson of Syracuse, New York; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joan Thompson of Westerville, Alice Gail Thompson of Grove City, Viola McGuire of Gallipolis, Garnet Queen of Crown City, Stanford Thompson of Grass Valley, California, Glenvil (Doris) McGuire of Chillicothe and Lenvil McGuire of Ashville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Thompson, three brothers, Lee Marlin, Cline, and Donald Thompson and a sister Maridell Wisecup.

Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 26, 2013 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alvis Pollard officiating.  Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2013.  There will be a masonic service at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
