Alan Keith Haley was released from the burdens of this life on November 18, 2007. He was born at 7:47 a.m. on November 9, 1980 to Lawrence Larry T. Haley and Rita F.Taylor Haley, who survive. Alan fought a courageous life long battle with a very serious congenital heart defect. He knew that his best hope for healing came from his Creator, to whom he realized he owed his very existence. When faced with serious decisions regarding his health, he often stated that he knew it was God who had kept him alive up to that point. By the grace of God, Alan was privileged to be involved in the 4H program for several years, showing various animals, primarily sheep. God gave Alan the ability to graduate from Ohio Valley Christian School in May of 1999. He also earned his license to auction and sell real estate and was working with Evans-Moore Realty of Gallipolis for the past few years. While his physical condition prevented him from rigorous physical labor, he very much enjoyed the outdoors and especially enjoyed working with, being around and talking about cattle. In the last years of his life, Alan became a more serious student of the Word of God, and was growing in his understanding of the purpose of living here on earth. In addition to his parents, Alan is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Kent and Alison Haley of Gallipolis, his two nephews, Bradley and Ethan Haley, and his maternal grandparents, Fred and Odella Taylor of Bidwell, Ohio. Alan also leaves behind several uncles, aunts and cousins He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ed and Peggy Haley of Pittsburgh, PA. The pain he experienced was untold, but the joy he spread was felt by all. Services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, November 24, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Gallipolis with Pastor Ray Stagno, Pastor Alvis Pollard, Pastor Matt Townsend, and Pastor Ken Leedy officiating. Burial will follow in Denney Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday, November 23, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Alan’s memory to the National Right to Life, 512 10th St. NW, Washington, DC 20004 or online at www.nrlc.org or the Samaritan’s Purse, P.O.
