Alta Naoma Hill Riedel

Alta Naoma Hill Riedel, 82, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. Alta was born on May 10, 1940 in Gallipolis, Ohio, daughter of the late William R. and Dorothy Younger Clonch. Alta retired from the Gallipolis Developmental Center in 2005. Alta was married to Harold F. Hill, and he preceded her in death in 1993; and she was married to Charles L. Riedel I, and he preceded her in death in 2009. She was a member of The Apostolic Gospel Church in Gallipolis. Alta loved being with her grandchildren and crocheting. She also served as a Deputy Sheriff for Gallia County. Alta is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Ann (Thomas) Morehouse of Gallipolis, Ohio; two sons, Stephen R. (Rita) Hill of Bidwell, Ohio and Dennis A. (Katrina) Hill of Gallipolis, Ohio; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Orlando) Miller, Tiffany (Andrew) Marquis; Brandon Campbell (Katelynn Casto), Dustin (Caitlin) Hill, Austin Hill (Katelynn Caldwell), and Garrett Hill (Kara McCormick); eleven great grandchildren, Sapphira, Emanuale, Aubrey, Braxton, Easton, Colton, Rylynn, Brandon and Aiden, Andrew, and Bethany; and siblings, Iva Myers, Nancy Caldwell, Dorothy Wills, and Virginia Kasee. She was preceded in death by an infant son; infant great granddaughter, Clairabelle Oceana Hill; two sisters, Mary Ann Nibert and Opal Martin; and four brothers, Charles Jr. Bush, William R. Bush, Herbert R. Clonch, and Richard L. Clonch. The funeral service for Alta will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Willis Funeral Home with Bishop James Marquis with her burial following in Centenary Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
