Alva Ed Roush, 80, of Cheshire, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the Hickory Creek Nursing Home in The Plains, Ohio. Ed was born on April 3, 1931 in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late Lloyd V. and Ruth Ward Roush, Sr. He was retired from A.E.P. Gavin Plant, a member of the Mt. Hermon United Brethren Church, and the American Legion Post #27 in Gallipolis, Ohio. Ed also served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Ed was married to Barbara Justice Roush on July 1, 1962 and she survives him in Cheshire. Also surviving is a son Brian E. (Missy) Roush of Gallipolis, and a daughter Debbie Atkins of Winfield, West Virginia, three grandsons Chris (Kari) Roush of Westerville, Ohio, Travis Roush of Gallipolis, and Nathan Atkins of Flatwoods, Kentucky; one sister Romayne (Forrest) Hardesty of Flatwoods, Kentucky, and one brother Lloyd V. (Ruth Ann) Roush, Jr. of Circleville, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a son William L. Bill Roush and by his parents. Funeral services will be 2 pm Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Peter Martendale officiating. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 5-8 pm January 21, 2012 at Willis Funeral Home.
