Amber Lynn Gaither died October 2, 2021 at the age of 43 in Columbus, Ohio after a brief illness. Amber was born June 3, 1978 in Gallipolis, Ohio and was an only child of the late Roger D. Hill and Roberta S. Brunk Gallipolis, Ohio who survives. Amber is also survived by her sons, Jared Gaither and Bryce Gaither; paternal grandmother, Betty Hill; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCartney. Also surviving are several aunts and uncles, Ron (Julie) McCartney, Deborah Elliott, Robecca (Louie) Bodimer, Leonis (Shane) Newell, and Jane (Jeff) Clagg; several cousins; and three true friends, Shannon Thomas, Cory Mills, and Ian McIntosh. She was preceded in death by her father, Roger Hill; paternal great grandparents, Lloyd and Erma Jeffers; paternal grandfather, Harold Hill; and a cousin, Jamie Glassburn. Amber attended surgical tech school and graduated with top honors. She never met a stranger and was up for new adventures. As a small child, she was always talking to strangers. Once her great grandfather was scolding her for talking to a man in a grocery store. He told her, “You don’t know that man.” She quickly turned around and asked the man his name. The man told her; she turned around and said, “He told me his name, so now I know him.” That never changed; she could easily strike up a conversation. Amber was born on the move and never missed the opportunity to go on an adventure. She was a hard worker and tender hearted. You could not help but to like Amber. She never held a grudge and forgave people easily. Amber was the apple of her great grandpa’s eye and was spoiled rotten by him. She will be missed, but we will carry fond memories in our hearts. Amber will be laid to rest in Centenary Cemetery in Gallipolis, Ohio. Please visit www.willisfuneralhome.com to send e-mail condolences.
