Aurelia J. Williams

March 13, 1923 — December 28, 2020

Aurelia Juanita (Bryan) Williams passed on to her heavenly home December 28, 2020 and is now rejoicing with family in that home. Born the eldest and last surviving child of Kelson and Margaret (Massie) Bryan, she came into this world on March 13, 1923 in Milton, WV. She married James H. Williams on March 4, 1944; and he preceded her in death in 1994. From this union, they were blessed with six children. Aurelia was a dedicated hard-working wife, mother, homemaker, and friend. James and she purchased a farm on Cora Mill Rd. in 1963 and moved their family and their farm from Barker Ridge, WV to Gallia County. They operated a dairy for many years until retirement. Aurelia was a member of the Cora Community Ladies Aid for many years. She attended the First Church of God where she worshipped until her declining years. She was a great quilter, making many quilts for her family, and a great cook, especially when it came to Sunday dinners. Her top priorities were her Lord, her husband, and her very large family. Aurelia is survived by two daughters Stella Jane Elkins and Leona (Danny) Dean and one son Charles (Christine) Williams. She is also survived to cherish her memory thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gary and Peggy Williams and sisters-in-law Dee Dee Williams and Louella Hughes, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceding her in death, besides her parents and husband, were three children: Mike Williams, Robin Shamblin, and Rose Mary Williams; a son-in-law Linden C. Elkins; and one great-great-grandchild Aaron. Also preceding her were two brothers and two sisters. Family graveside services will be conducted by Pastor Paul Voss at Calvary Cemetery in Rio Grande, Ohio on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. The family requests donations be made to the First Church of God, 1723 OH-141, Gallipolis, OH 45631. The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Holzer Senior Care for the outstanding competent and compassionate care as well as all the love they gave our mother and grandmother these past four years.
