Barbara Taylor Wilks

Barbara Taylor Wilks, 81, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at her residence.

Born on July 14, 1941 in Huntington, West Virginia, Barbara was the daughter of the late Aaron and Verlie Ileen Baker Taylor.  On June 2, 1959, Barbara married Charles W. Wilks, who preceded her in death on February 8, 2022.  Barbara was a retired dietitian from Piqua Memorial Hospital and a member of First Baptist Church in Gallipolis.  She enjoyed crocheting, reading, doing sudoku, and especially playing scrabble.

Barbara is survived by two daughters, Debbie (Larry) Shaner of Cambridge, Ohio and Diana Mote of Wapakoneta, Ohio; one son, Gregory Wilks of Edgewater, Florida; seven grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a great granddaughter and by a brother, Ronnie Taylor.

The funeral service for Barbara will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, September  4, 2022 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Young officiating.  Her burial will follow in Pine Street Cemetery.  Friends may call on Sunday prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Barbara's name to National Church Residences at www.nationalchurchresidences.org or at 681 Third Street, Waverly, Ohio 45690.
