Bessie Marie Bowman

Bessie Marie Bowman, 64, of Crown City, Ohio passed away on Monday, August 30, 2010 at her residence. Bessie was born on May 7, 1946 in Gallia County to the late Truman and Gladys Cox Wolford. She retired from the Gallipolis Developmental Center having 27 years of service. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed her pet cat 'Princess' and her pet dog 'Harry'. Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Ina Phillips, Letha Mae Davis and by three brothers Keith Wolford, Carl Wolford and Earl Wolford. She is survived by two sisters Jewell Wolford of Gallipolis and Mary Wolford of Crown City, two brothers Junior Judy Wolford of Gallipolis and Don Brenda Wolford of Crown City; several nieces and nephews and special friends Francis and Sally Waugh of Crown City, and Stella Hess of Vinton. Services will be 1 pm Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Kings Chapel Church with Pastors Alfred Holley and Matthew Henry officiating. Burial will follow in Kings Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at Willis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6-8 pm. Pallbearers will be Nelson Davis, William Stapleton, Richard Shaffer, James Wolford, Daniel Shaffer, and Francis Waugh.
