Betty Carpenter

Betsy Ann 'Betty' Carpenter, 65 of Rodney, Ohio went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 26, 2009 at the Overbrook Center in Middleport, OH after an extended illness. She was born on August 19, 1943 in Pocohontas, VA the daughter of the late Darrell and Ann Burkhamer and Edward and Irene Tipton. Betty was a Homemaker, a member of the Rodney Pike Church of God and the O.S.U. Gallia Co, Homemakers. She was married to James 'Jim' Carpenter of Rodney and he survives. She is also survived by one son David Deanna Carpenter of Gallipolis, and one daughter Paula Carpenter Garrett of Rodney; five grandchildren Aaron and Katie Carpenter, Mariah, Nikki and Tyler Garrett; three brothers Eddie Faye Tipton of Charleston, WV, Fred Sally Tipton of Battle Creek, MI, and Matt Tessa Burkhamer of Logan, WV; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Billy Jean Baria and one brother Jimmy Tipton. Services will be 11 am Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the Rodney Church of God with Pastor Ron Bynum officiating. Burial will follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Garden at the convenience of the family.
