Betty Lou Clonch, 90, of Patriot, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis. Born on October 24, 1928 in Henderson, West Virginia, Betty was the daughter of the late Denver and Neva Smith Bates, Sr. Betty was married to Douglas O’Dell Clonch, Sr., who preceded her in death on May 19, 1998. Betty is survived by her daughters, Shirley (John Wayne) Stobart of Racine, Ohio and Shelby (William Shain) Clonch-Sowards of Patriot; son, John Clonch of Gallipolis; grandchildren, Michael Collins, Willie (Lydia) Collins, Sasha Collins (Bryce Laudermilt), Timothy Long, William Sowards, Jr. aka Tiger, Crystal Sowards (Eric Cochran), Russell Sowards, Sean Clonch, and Alexandria (Nate) Cummons; several great grandchildren; sister, Jane Ann DeWeese of Gallipolis; and brother, Denver Bates, Jr. of Gallipolis. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Douglas O’Dell Clonch, Jr.; brothers, Frank Bates and Harry Bates; and sister, Helen Myers. The funeral service for Betty will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Willis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens.
