Betty Ann Johnson

Betty Ann Johnson, 71, of Gallipolis, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2009 at the Holzer Medical Center Emergency Room. She was born April 8, 1938 in Gallia County, daughter of the late Weltha Louise Lewis Pennington and Carl S. Pennington, who survives her. She attended French City Baptist Church. Betty enjoyed camping, sitting on the porch, gardening and her grandchildren. She was formerly married to the late Oakey Johnson Jr. and from this union survives a son, Jeffrey Johnson of Gallipolis and two daughters, Lisa Roger Hopkins of South Bloomfield and Kristi Johnson of Gallipolis; seven grandchildren, Kayla Johnson, Kody Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Kalissa Zickafoos, Haley Hopkins, Jeffrey Oakey Johnson Jr., Kameron Barnes; her father, Carl S. Pennington of Crown City; a sister, Lynn B. Shirley Angel of Crown City; and a niece and several nephews. Services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at the Willis Funeral Home with Rev. John Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, June 1, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Larry Angel, Tim Angel, Scott Angel, Wesley Angel, Kody Johnson, and Dave Barnes.
