Betty Queen, 81, of Gallipolis, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at her residence. She was born January 26, 1930 in Gallia County, daughter of the late Clyde J. and Mable Glover Hunt. Betty was a homemaker and loved being with her family. She is survived by her children, James (Shirly) Ellis of New Richmond, Ohio, Martha (Tommy) Cox and Donna Ellis, both of Gallipolis, Ohio, Myree Beaver and Eva (Paul) Wolfe, both of New Richmond, Ohio, Ray (Janice) Queen Jr., of Lexington, Kentucky, Joseph Ellis of New Richmond, Ohio, Betsy (Jack) Smith of Jackson, Ohio and Melissa Queen of Gallipolis; special friend, James Dillon of Gallipolis, Ohio; 16 grandchildren, including a special granddaughter raised in the home, Megan Wilson of Gallipolis, Ohio; 24 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; five sisters, Emily (Harold) Stewart and Dorothy (Boyce) Jones, both of Cincinnati, Ohio, Sue (Jimmy) Rubenstahl of North Carolina, Mary C. Speakes and Ethel Randolph, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother, Billy (Peggy) Hunt of Cincinnati, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband James Ellis in 1965, her second husband Ray Queen in 1981, an infant son Walter Dale Queen in 1971, a sister Audrey Stewart, brothers Jack Hunt, Clyde Junior Hunt, Richard Hunt, and Bob Franklin. A special thank you to Shelli and Debbie at Holzer Hospice for making it possible to bring Betty home. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Old Mercerville Cemetery.
