Brenda Jane Queen Denny

June 10, 1957 — March 9, 2011

Brenda Jane Queen Denny, 53, of Gallipolis, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 9, 2011, with family and friends by her side. She worked at Rockwell Automation for many years, becoming close friends with many of her co-workers. She fought a long and courageous battle with breast cancer and was ready to go meet her Heavenly Father. Brenda was a remarkable daughter, mother, grandmother and friend to all that had the privilege of knowing her. She amazed most of her doctors who treated her by always bouncing back. She amazed us all by her willingness to fight this battle. Brenda was born on June 10, 1957 in Gallipolis, daughter of the late Frank and Clara Anderson Queen. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, J.A. and Nannie Queen and Harry and Blanche Anderson. She was a 1975 graduate of Gallia Academy High School. Brendas interests were spending time with her children and grandchildren, basket bingo, Longaberger trips to Dresden, watching her loved ones play sports and being an avid participant in Relay for Life. She is survived by three wonderful children, Misty (Mitchell) Unroe, Christina (Seth) Weaver and William J. Denny II, all of Gallipolis. Brenda also leaves behind seven grandchildren who loved her dearly, Kierstyn and Kaleigh Unroe, Brynna, Rylea and Brodey Weaver, and Ally and Trey Denny, all of Gallipolis. She is also survived by two brothers, Leon (Angela) Queen and Terry (Trudy) Queen, both of Gallipolis, a sister Renita Queen Layne of Pt. Pleasant, several loving nieces, nephews and cousins, whom she adored, and Jan Springer and Anina Denny, whom she considered sisters. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow at Centenary Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Doyle Rayburn, Dale Rayburn, Derrick Rayburn, Dwayne Rayburn, Jared Dino Rayburn, and Timmy Rucker. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309. The family would like to thank Dr. Stephen Serfontein and Staff, Dr. Joseph Shehadi and Staff, Dr. Teril Patel and Staff and Holzer Hospice.
