Brian N. Murphy, 64, of Gallipolis, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at his residence. Brian was born on August 7, 1956 in Freeburn, Kentucky, son of the late Melvin Murphy and Rebecca Murphy. Brian grew up in the home of Myrtle and Frank Wolford, who also preceded him in death. A sister, Dinah Murphy Patrick, also preceded him in death. Brian served in the United States Marine Corps and was an Assistant Pastor at Debbie Drive Chapel. Brian married Wilma Gunnell Murphy on October 6, 1978 in Asheville, North Carolina; and she survives him along with three daughters, Autumn (Steven) Stewart of Gallipolis, Krystal (David) Hughes of Newport, Wales, UK, and Jessica (Steve) Blum of East Windsor, New Jersey; four grandchildren, MaKayla Stewart, Ethan Stewart, Garrett Hughes, and Orion Blum; and two sisters, Sheila (Jamie) Bevins of Paris, Kentucky and Annette Trumpower of Virginia. The calling hours for Brian will be 12:00 - 1:00 pm with the funeral service immediately after on Friday, October 23, 2020 at Debbie Drive Chapel with Kevin Mitchell officiating. Accompanying pallbearers are Steven and Ethan Stewart, Steve Blum, Keith Vanover, Steve Reynolds, Rob Clark and honorary pallbearer David Hughes. His burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the church on Friday from noon until the time of the service. Those in attendance are asked to follow CDC guidelines and Ohio mandates of social distancing and wearing face masks at all times.
