Buell G. Burnett

Buell G. Burnett, 89, of Patriot, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at his residence. He was born April 4, 1921 in Patriot, son of the late Marcus and Cora Caldwell Burnett. Buell was married to Hope Cochran Burnett on July 23, 1971 and she survives him. He was a member of Carpenters Union Local #150, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a member of Patriot Church and a member of both the Gallia County Gun Club and Gallia County Conservation Club. Surviving are his wife, Hope Burnett of Patriot; two daughters, Kathy John Thomas and Karen Larry Clark, both of Gallipolis; two sons, Ronnie 'Rono' Burnett of Gallipolis and Roger Burnett of Springfield; stepdaughter, Jane Ann Lewis Miller of Gallipolis; stepsons, Gary Saundra Fallon and Larry Cheryl Fallon, both of Patriot; six grandchildren, Jason Thomas, Kristi Charbonneau, Stacey Cremeans, Mendi Carter, Amberr Foreman, and Shaun Kelly; five step grandchildren, Justin Fallon, Shannon Thomas, Carrie Kucia, Dorothy Duncan, Rashel Yates; and several great grandchildren. Buell was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Autumn Burnett Derham, seven brothers Ervin, Carroll, Cecil, Homer, Granville, Luther and Marshall Burnett, and three sisters Kathryn Burnette, Juhl Brumfield, and Mary M. Swick Services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Jane Ann Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Patriot Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12-1 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service. There will be full military services by volunteers of area veteran's lodges. Pallbearers will be Bob Donett, Jason Thomas, John Thomas, Justin Fallon, Lewis Miller, and Larry Fallon. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy George, Ron Betz, and Bud Tope.
