Carolyn Nancy Church

Carolyn Nancy 'Nanny' Church, 70, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at the St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington. She was a homemaker and loved dogs, cats and birds. Nancy was born on April 25, 1938 in Scioto County, Ohio daughter of the late William Fite and Martha Ramey Lavender. She is survived by her husband Marvin M. Church of Gallipolis whom she married on May 7, 1955 in Auburn, Indiana; three daughters, Teri Gothard of Gallipolis, Mary Johnnie McGuire of Patriot, and Joyce Jacob Miller of Cadmus; two sons, Dennis Kay Church of Bidwell and John 'J.D.' Diana Church of Vinton; eight grandchildren including grandson reared in the home Bill Church of Gallipolis; Carolyn McHargue, Krissy McGuire, Jacki Halley, Dennis, Zach and Holly Church and Jeremy Drummond; four great grandchildren; one brother David Fite of California, an Aunt Norma Yardi of Portsmouth and a special cousin Carlene McCurdy of Bowling Green, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Fite, and Martha Lavender; her step father Willie Lavender; and a son Garry Daniel Church and a son-in-law Russell Gothard Funeral services will be 1 pm Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Eblin officiating. Burial will follow in Bethesda Cemetery. Friends may call on Thurday, from noon until the time of the services at Willis Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Robert McGuire, Tim McGuire, Gary McGuire, Johnnie McGuire, Donny Blazer and Jeremy Drummond.
