Cecil W. Wise

Cecil W. Wise, 88, of Crown City, Ohio passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at his residence. Born on October 13, 1933 in Gallipolis, Ohio, Cecil was the son of the late Sanford C. and Lullia Wickline Wise. Cecil married Margaret “Sue” Wise, who preceded him in death on February 7, 2022. He graduated from Mercerville High School and served in the U.S. Army. Cecil was the owner/operator of Wise Excavating. He was a member of Morning Dawn Lodge #7, a 32 Degree Mason, and a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church. Cecil enjoyed reading about history and traveling. Cecil is survived by his children, Michael (Velda) Wise of Sunbury, Ohio, Robert (Sandra) Lee of Deer Park, Texas, Mark Lee of Gallipolis, and Carolyn (Jonathon) Rice of Crown City; grandchildren, Grant (Teisha) Wise of Sunbury, Seth (Lexie) Williamson of Crown City, Alexis Williamson of Crown City, Zack (Kate) Lee of Gallipolis, Regina Lee of Deer Park, Texas and Katrina (Morgan) Lee of Deer Park, Texas; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, Cecil was preceded in death by a sister, Naomi Roush. The funeral service for Cecil will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Willis Funeral Home with his son, Michael Wise, officiating. There will be a Masonic Service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery with a Military Service. Friends may call prior to the service from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jonathon Rice, Seth Williamson, Zack Lee, Tim Caldwell, Wes Wise, and Terry Cline.
