Charles Lee Barcus

Charles Lee Barcus, 80 of Crown City, Ohio passed away on Sunday July 24, 2011 at the St. Marys Hospital in Huntington, WV. He was born November 28, 1930 in Gallia County, Ohio the son of the late Harry and Louise Glover Barcus King. He retired as a carpenter from the G. D. C., He was an U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of the American Legion Post #27, VFW Post #4464, AMVETS Post #23, Gallia Masonic Lodge #469 until they merged with the Morning Dawn Lodge #7 where he is a current member. Charles Lee is also a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of the Scottish Rite of Columbus. He was on the Providence Cemetery Board, The Gallia County Rural Water Association Board of Directors since April 24, 1986, and a Clay Township Trustee since 1984. Charles Lee attended the Elizabeth Chapel Church, where he was baptized on May 1, 2011. Charles Lee was married to Opal Drummond Barcus on November 28, 1953 and she survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Shirley (Tom) Beaver of Gallipolis and Bobbie (Bob) Hudson, Crown City, one son Kenny (Tammi) Barcus of Crown City: Three grandsons: T.C. (Jillian) Beaver, Matthew Beaver and Harry Hudson, one great Grandson Dacoda Charles Hudson; a step-brother Marshall (Mary) King of Gallipolis, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his step-father Pete King and a step-brother Donnie King. Services will be 1 pm Thursday July 28. 2011 at the Willis Funeral Home under the direction of pastors Alfred Holley and Randy Carnes. Burial will follow in the Providence Cemetery. Friends may call at the Willis Funeral Home on Wednesday July 27, 2011 from 5-9 p.m. There will be a Masonic Service at the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 9:00 pm and Full Military services at the graveside performed by volunteers of area veterans lodges. Pallbearers will be T.C. Beaver, Matthew Beaver, Harry Hudson, Bill Unroe , Bobby Franklin and Ray Slone.
