Charles B. Scouten

Charles B. Scouten, 84, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Holzer Medical Center ER.

Born on March 17, 1938 in Noxen, Pennsylvania, Charles was the son of the late Clyde and Francis Sweezy Scouten.  On September 2, 1961, Charles married Norma Corbin Scouten, who survives him in Gallipolis.  Charles retired from Goodyear/Shell Chemical/M & G Polymers with 33 years of service.  He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Charles is survived by his wife of 61 years, Norma Scouten; daughter, Sharon (Randy) Price of New Concord, Ohio; son, David (Kris) Scouten of Kirtland, Ohio; grandchildren, Leisha (James) Hickenbottom, Jordan Price, Andrew “Drew” Scouten, Kyle Scouten, Claire Dotson, and Katie Dotson; great granddaughters, Regan, Mackenzie, and Peyton; brother, Harry (Daisy) Scouten of Troy, Pennsylvania; and sister, Alice Ames of Middlebury Center, Pennsylvania.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a brother, Emerson Scouten and a sister, Alice Avery.

The funeral service for Charles will be held at 1:30 on Monday, October 24, 2022 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Young officiating.  Burial will follow in Pine Street Cemetery.  Friends may call prior to the service Monday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
