Clifford Harvey, Jr., born October 27, 1954 in Huntington, West Virginia to parents Clifford and Ruth Harvey, died March 29, 2024 in Columbus, Ohio.
Cliff, sometimes called Bud, was a graduate of Wayne High School where he excelled as a star football player for the Wayne Pioneers. A picture of him in football uniform hangs in the school hallway. In 1984, he moved to Gallipolis, Ohio where he was employed as a teacher’s assistant at the Gallipolis Developmental Center. Upon leaving Gallipolis, he moved to Columbus where he was employed at Columbus Developmental Center as a therapeutic worker and was soon promoted to supervisor where he remained until his retirement at nearly thirty years’ service.
Cliff was an award-winning flower gardener and enjoyed working in his lawn. He was equally at home in the kitchen and greatly enjoyed cooking. He was known for his decorating skills and was always upgrading his home décor. Above all, Cliff knew how to celebrate Christmas. He started decorating the day after Thanksgiving and continued until every room in the house was decorated. Cliff loved sports, and for many years was a season football ticket holder at Ohio State. He also was a gym enthusiast and had been a member of Obetz Athletic Club for many years where he had many friends. He was also a great sudoku fan and was very skilled at quickly solving them on his ipad.
Survivors include sisters, Catherine (Bobby) Watts, Carol (Billy) Watts, and Sue Harvey; brothers, David (Patty) Harvey and Greg Harvey; a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews; and special friend of 41 years, Charles Price.
