Curtis D. Chuck Gilliam, 68, of Gallipolis, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Holzer Medical Center. He was born January 29, 1942 in Jenkins, Kentucky, son of the late Luther and Gladys Tunnell Gilliam. Chuck was married to Glendora Justice Gilliam, who preceded him in death on November 13, 1990. He retired from the Southern Ohio Coal Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church, the UMWA, Harley Owners Group H.O.G. , Sons of American Legion Post 27 and was a Kentucky Colonel. Surviving are his sister, Linda (Ronnie) Wright of Dorton, Kentucky and his brother, Harold (Judy) Gilliam of Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania; three step children, Kevin Wright, Kim Wright, and Shannon Justice; several nieces and nephews; and a host of devoted friends. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Glendora Gilliam, four brothers James, Hershell PeeWee, Jacob, and Luther Jr. Gilliam. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 10, 2011 at the Willis Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, January 9, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. Entombment will be at the Thacker Memorial Mausoleum in the Annie E. Young Cemetery, Pikeville, Kentucky on Monday, January 10, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Tom Reed, Randy Hensley, Dean Cremeans, Tom Gooch, Barbara Hill, Kim Hensley, PJ Roush, and Tammy Cremeans.
