Darrell J. Huffman

Darrell J. Huffman Hoffman, 77, of Gallipolis, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 24, 2009. He was born May 21, 1931 in Mason, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his father, John Forrest Fuzz Hoffman and stepmother Luella Wooten Hoffman and his mother Francis Marie Bush Rice and stepfather Luther Rice. Darrell is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lola Christian Huffman and children, Larry Monique Huffman of Dayton, Ohio, Della Peck of Gallipolis, Terry Colleen Huffman of Sherwood, Oregon, Debbie Bob Misner of Cheshire; eleven grandchildren, Greg Cassie Peck, Erica Peck, Joy Erik Yancy, Faith Huffman, Brian and Heather Hershey, Chris and Beth Misner, Darrell, Joshua and Vanessa Huffman; eight great grandchildren, Tommy, Colton, Breanna, Aidan, Michael, Rylan, Aydan, and Dallyn; six brothers and sisters, Marie Dillon and Eugene Rice, both of Peterstown, West Virginia, William Hoffman of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, Inez Birchfield, Betty Cook and Mary Harmon, all of Henderson, West Virginia. Darrell was a Korean War veteran, serving with the U.S. Army from October 1952 through September, 1954. He was also a talented musician, who played guitar and banjo. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Point Pleasant, West Virginia and had been employed by Kaiser Aluminum. Services will be 1:30 p.m., Sunday, March 1, 2009 at the Willis Funeral Home with the Reverend Paul Chapman and the Reverend Kenneth Bledsoe officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Cheshire. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Saturday, February 28, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. There will be full military services at the graveside by volunteers of area veteran's lodges.
