David G. Bryan, Sr., 88, of Gallipolis, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on August 4, 2023 in Ocala, Florida. David was born on February 2, 1935 in St. Albans, West Virginia, son of the late Byron and Cora F. Vandergriff Bryan.
David was a retired pastor and employee of Kaiser Aluminum Plant in Ravenswood for 30 years. He pastored the following churches: Palestine Baptist Church in Ashton, West Virginia; New Hope Baptist Church in Middleport, Ohio; Jordon Baptist Church in Gallipolis Ferry, West Virginia; Faith Gospel Church in Gallipolis Ferry; and Rehoboth Baptist Church in St. Albans, West Virginia. Dave was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Rodney, Ohio,
Dave is survived by his wife, Mary Lemon Bryan; their children, one daughter, Pamela R. Bryan of Dunnellon, Florida and two sons, David G. (Pam) Bryan, Jr. and Mark V. (Brenda) Bryan both of Gallipolis; grandchildren, Heidi (Jamie) Birchfield, Jason Bryan, Jared (Jessica) Bryan, Christopher Bryan, Deanna (Scott) Gilliland, Trevor (Courtney) Bryan, Micaela (Micah) Sawatski, Tyler Burnett, and Chris (Courtney) Burnett; eighteen great grandchildren; one brother, Jack (Suzi) Bryan of Tennessee and one sister, Elizabeth (Ollie) Treible of New Jersey; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Bryan of Columbus. David was preceded in death by two infant grandsons; a sister, Phyllis Burgess; and three brothers, Leo Bryan, Wilmer Bryan, and Paul Bryan.
The funeral service for David will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Chapman officiating. Friends may call on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Willis Funeral Home. His burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens.
