David F. Hager

David F. Hager, 74, of Bidwell, Ohio passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024 at his residence.

Born on February 9, 1950 in Gallia County, Ohio, David was the son of the late Ernest F. and Rose B. Barnett Hager.  On March 21, 1970, David married Nora D’Amto Hager in Rio Grande, Ohio.  David was a retired coal miner and the owner of Hager Pool and Spa.  He was a graduate of North Gallia High School Class of 1968.  David served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam.  He was a member of the Elks #107, Masonic Lodge, Gallipolis Shrine Club, and Cliffside Golf Club.  David loved people and helping them.

David is survived by his wife, Nora Hager of Bidwell; children, David F. (Karen) Hager of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jennifer Hager of Hilliard, Ohio, Stephanie (Ryan) Matura of Hilliard, Ohio, and Tiffany (Aaron) Epling of Hilliard, Ohio; eleven grandchildren, Noah Hager, Makenna Hager, Madelyn Epling, Jayla Daniel, Jenna Daniel, Jason Daniel, Elizabeth Epling, Avery Epling, Dustin Hager, Harper Matura, and London Matura; sister, Julia Eurell; and mother-in-law, Marie Denney of Bidwell, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, Andrew Minnich and sister, Clyda Lou Hager Earp.

The funeral service for David will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Neal officiating.  Full military services will be provided by the Gallia County Funeral Detail at the funeral home.  Friends may call prior to the service Saturday from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
