David L. Rees

David L. Rees, 71, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Holzer Medical Center. Born on September 7, 1951 in Gallipolis, Ohio, Dave was the son of the late David L. and Rosena Wiseman Rees. On August 15, 1989, Dave married Sharon Atkins Rees, who survives him in Gallipolis. Dave was a graduate of Gallia Academy High School Class of 1969 and worked for Southern Ohio Coal Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Dave is survived by his wife, Sharon Rees of Gallipolis; sons, David (Mica) Rees of Pomeroy, Ohio, Danny (Samantha) Rees of Bonner Springs, Kansas, and Jeremy (Ashley) Wolfe of Haleiwa, Hawaii; daughter, Amber Wolfe (Mark) Oliver of Point Pleasant, West Virginia; nine grandchildren, Garrett, Mark Allen, Ben, Hannah, Dixie, Abigail, Isaac, Theo, and Levi; brothers, Dean (Amee) Rees of Rio Grande, Ohio and Dwight (Christi) Rees of Rio Grande, Ohio; sister-in-law, Lisa (Keith) Jeffers of Gallipolis; brother-in-law, Greg (Lorna) Atkins of Gallipolis; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by a brother, Dwane Rees; stepmother, Betty Rees; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carlos and Eleanor Atkins. A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Centenary Cemetery with Pastor Aaron Young and Pastor Mark Oliver officiating. Friends may call on Friday, December 2, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Willis Funeral Home.
