David M. Saunders, 58, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025 in Columbus, Ohio.

Born on March 23, 1967 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, David was the son of Richard H. Saunders of Gallipolis and the late Bonny G. Sanders Saunders, who preceded him in death on May 12, 2021. David was also preceded in death by his former wife Lori Ann Smith (Saunders) who died September 28, 2006.

David served briefly in the Army National Guard. He was an artist who enjoyed drawing, cooking, and all sorts of music.  David was a cook most famously and recently at Courtside Bar and Grill in Gallipolis, Ohio for several years before health issues forced him to have to retire, last year.  Though, David's greatest accomplishments in life were his children and grandchildren.

David is survived by his father, Richard H. Saunders of Gallipolis, Ohio; his four loving children, Tiffany Saunders (Darrell Poare) of Chillicothe, Ohio, Michael Saunders (Jenny Tipple) of Gainesville, Tennessee, Megan Gilmore Peterson of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Desiree “Desi” Patterson of Rutland, Ohio; his grandchildren, Kori` Anna Kori Saunders, Jae Alexia Poare, Darren Ale`xander Poare, and Davi` Anna Alexandra Poare, Kylee Saunders, Logan Brinson, Ayden Brinson, Ethan Brinson, Shelby Peterson, and many others; siblings, Densie (Fred) Menzel of Gallipolis and Kelly (Eddie) Frye of Gallipolis; and many other friends, family, etc.

Friends and family may call from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Willis Funeral Home with a graveside service being held for David at 11:00 a.m. the following day on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Ridgelawn Cemetery.

Close friends and family of David will be meeting at Courtside Bar & Grille after services on WEDNESDAY EVENING where we will SALUTE Dave ONE LAST TIME! Please come join us at 7 pm at Courtside!

Donations for the family will be accepted via cashapp $childofanangel and will also be available via donation boxes at Courtside Bar & Grille on Wednesday night 7-9pm (for anyone interested).
