David Brian Wise, of Gallipolis, Ohio, a loving son, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, October 25, 2013 at Holzer Medical Center with his mother, brother and aunt by his side. He was 56 years old. He was born on January 26, 1957 in Columbus, Ohio. David was the firstborn of Constance Preston Wise and the late Kenneth I. Wise. He grew up in Cheshire, Ohio, where sports were always a big part of his childhood. A 1975 graduate of Kyger Creek High School, he excelled in varsity sports. David was a retired Staff Sgt. for the Ohio National Guard, a member of the NRA, and worked in the construction trade. He was an avid Cleveland Browns football fan, making NFL Sundays the favorite part of his week. Always having a big heart, he purchased many Christmas gifts for needy children. He is survived by his mother, Constance Wise of Gallipolis; brother, Kevin Wise of Gallipolis; daughter, Krista Wise of Delaware, Ohio; and his aunts, uncles, cousins and a niece. David was predeceased by his father; maternal grandparents Edward and Helen Preston and paternal grandmother Helen Brumfield. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the Willis Funeral Home. Final resting place will be Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cheshire, Ohio.
