Debra L. Burgess, 57, of Gallipolis, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2010 at her residence. She was born on November 16, 1952 in Kanawha County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Gilbert Leon and Betty Jo Miller Trowbridge. Debra was a 1970 graduate of Southwestern High School and a graduate of Gallipolis Career College. She was formerly employed by Holzer Clinic and attended Faith Baptist Church occasionally. Surviving are her daughter, Amy Smith Pearce of Gallipolis; special friends and relatives, Sharon and Roger Evans, Marshall Evans, MaKayland Evans, Cindy Storms, Gracie Ann Shope, Joann Davis, Rita Ehman and Cynthia Dailey; a sister-in-law, Debbie Jo Trowbridge and a nephew, Derek Trowbridge, both of Laurel, Maryland; special friends at Med-Corp, Ohio Valley Home Health Agency; and a special pet cat, Precious. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Gil Trowbridge and a special friend, Carolyn Taylor. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Curry officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010. Pallbearers will be Mark Smith, Kenneth Simms, Joe Dailey, Jason Dailey, Roger Evans and David Smith.
