Delbert R. Williams

Delbert R. “Del” Williams, 70, of Patriot, Ohio passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Holzer Medical Center.

Born on May 2, 1952 in Huntington, West Virginia, Del was the son of the late Olof R. and Ruth Evelyn Burgess Williams.  Del married Sharon Birchfield Williams, who survives him in Patriot.  He retired from ODOT and worked for Facing Hunger Foodbank in Huntington, West Virginia.  Del was a Hannan Trace High School graduate Class of 1970 and a member of Crown City Wesleyan Church.

Del is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon Williams; three brothers, Charles “Butch” (Clara) Williams of Crown City, Joseph (Kimberly) Williams of Crown City, and Rick (Monica) Williams of Portsmouth, Ohio; sisters, Diana (Donnie) Blake of Crown City, Shelby Terry of Patriot, Patty (Johnny) McGuire of Gallipolis, and Kathy (Don Jr.) Watson of Scottown, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Del will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Junior Preston and Pastor Jamie Sisson officiating.  Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery.  Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at the funeral home.
