Dollie Marie Mooney, 84, of Crown City, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at her residence. She was born June 4, 1929 at Ripley, West Virginia, daughter of the late Peter and Margie Hunt Parsons. Dollie was married to Alven L. Mooney on December 24, 1949 in Gallipolis and he survives her. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Dollie enjoyed gardening, embroidery, canning and making jelly for her family and spending time watching her grandbabies play. Surviving are her husband, Alven Mooney of Crown City; three children, Margie Sue (Lawrence) Phillips of Marietta, Carolyn (Kenny) McComas of Crown City, and Steven L. (Sharon ) Mooney of Caldwell; 8 grandchildren, Mike Phillips, Shelly (Joey) Nottingham, Steffi Marie (Nick) Jackson-Eplion, Jessie (Chelsey Bootz) McComas, Shannon Smith, Stephanie Dawn (Eric) Kasserman, Austin Mooney and Dakota Mooney; 13 great grandchildren, Andy and Josh Phillips, Travis and Marisa Deuley, Savannah Smith, Hunter and Peyton Jackson, Kamren and Jake Eplion, Elijah and Kolton Kasserman and Carter and Jaycie Mooney; and three sisters, Lona (Tunnie) Clary of Crown City, Gracie Caldwell of Pataskala, and Naomi (Cis) Whitt of Crown City. Dollie was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter Vivian Ann Mooney, a grandson Mark Phillips, her brothers and sister, Leslie, Wilmer, Sherman, Auvil Parsons, and Verbie Waugh. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 23, 2014 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Galloway officiating. Burial will follow in Victory Cemetery.
