Donavan F. Clagg

Donavan F. 'Don' Clagg, 84, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at the Holzer Medical Center. Don was retired from the Atomic Plant in Piketon, Ohio and a member of the Centerville Masonic Lodge. Don was born on March 13, 1924 in Gallia County, Ohio son of the late Henry Edward Clagg and Jessie Mae Dewitt Clagg. He was married to Weltha Halley Clagg and she survives in Gallipolis. Also surviving are three daughters, Donna Parsons and Yvonne Steve Walters both of Middleport, Ohio; Pam Burnett of Springfield, Ohio; a son-in-law Roger Burnett of Springfield, ; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Urban Baldwin, Midge Evans both of Gallipolis, Clara Jay Allen Blair of Circleville, and Bonnie Bonnett of Columbus. Don was preceded in death by a grandson William Stephen Walters II, and a granddaughter Autumn Burnett Derham; a son-in-law Grant Parsons, and by five brothers, Clayton, Shelby, Van, Jack and Henry Clagg. Services will be 1 pm Friday, November 7, 2008 at Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday today November 6, 2008 from 6-8 pm at Willis Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jason Brumfield, Peyton Matern, Tad Walters, Roger Burnett, David Clagg and Tom Barry; Honorary Pallbearers will be Keith Robie, Dave Rees, Bill Saunders, Otis Young, Ted Hanna, and Ike Hively. There will be Masonic service on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
