Dorothy Beaver Clagg

Dorothy Beaver Clagg, 88, was born June 19, 1922 to the late John and Cora Sheets Greene. She resided at Holzer Senior Care since May 1, 2003 where she died Thursday, June 9, 2011 after a long battle with Alzheimers Disease. She was married on August 16, 1939 to Houck Beaver who preceded her in death on September 19, 1974. He was the father of their six children. Dorothy was also preceded in death by three brothers, Lowell, Woodford, and Oral Greene, and two sisters Frances Rose and Virginia Greene. She is survived by five sons and one daughter, John and Carolyn Beaver of Mercerville, Paul and Beverly Beaver of Reynoldsburg, Janet and David Hively of Gallipolis, David and Sherry Beaver of Jackson, Thomas and Shirley Beaver of Gallipolis, and Stephen and Carol Beaver of Gallipolis, all in Ohio. Also surviving her are 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Dorothy was also preceded in death by Henry Clagg. Dorothy was a member of the Gallipolis Nazarene Church and attended Elizabeth Chapel Church. She retired as a cook from Hannan Trace Schools. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday, June 12, 2011 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley and Pastor Randy Carnes officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 5-9 p.m. The grandsons will be pallbearers. The family wishes to thank the staff of Holzer Senior Care for their professionalism, dedication, and love shown to our special mother.
