Dorothy M. Houck, 84, of Gallipolis, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at her residence. She was born February 25, 1927 in Gallia County, Ohio, daughter of the late Jake and Rosie McGuire Betz. Dorothy was married to Eural R. Houck and he preceded her in death on June 14, 1981. She was a homemaker, a member of Mercerville Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed walking. Surviving are her sons, Paul E. (Janet) Barcus of Port Clinton, Ohio and Richard C. Houck of Gallipolis; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; one special step great grandson, Allen E. Vanderborne; a former daughter-in-law, Lona Mae Houck of Gallipolis; a brother, Irvin J. Betz of Sandusky, Ohio; a sister, Frances Lucas of Gallipolis; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Darlene Houck of Grove City, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eural R. Houck and a niece, Teresa L. Houck. Services will be 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Lusher officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday (tonight), May 10, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Matt Houck, Orville Barcus, Tim Vanderborne, Mike Beaver, Larry Saunders, and Merrill Caldwell.
