Dorothy Dot J. Walker

Dorothy 'Dot' J. Walker, 82, of Gallipolis, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the Holzer Medical Center. She was born September 13, 1927 in Meigs County, Ohio, daughter of the late Lorenzo and Maude Scott. Dorothy was married to Maurice S. ' Shorty' Walker, who was a proud military veteran and served for 30 years. She was a graduate of Middleport High School and enjoyed the high school band. She had been an employee of Fruth's Pharmacy and attended Gallipolis Christian Church. Surviving are her three sisters-in-law, Mildred K. Westphal of Gallipolis, Mary Workman of New Haven, WV and Ruth Walker of Richmond, IN; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Maurice S. 'Shorty' Walker, who preceded her in death on January 28, 2006, and one sister, Esther Bonn Simpkins. Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Gravel Hill Cemetery with Minister Michael Lynn officiating.
