Earl Donald Dennison

Earl Donald Dennison, age 80, of Columbus, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on July 6th, 2021. He passed away peacefully at Riverside Hospital, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Gallipolis, Ohio (Guyan Township), to Earl and Hilda (Cremeens) Dennison on June 10th, 1941. He graduated from Hannan Trace High School in 1959, and joined the USAF shortly after. Earl was stationed at Dow AFB in Maine for the duration of his 4 years of military service, before moving to Columbus, Ohio in 1963. He married his sweetheart, Virginia, on February 23rd, 1961, and this year, they celebrated 60 wonderful years together, they had 1 son. Earl was a longtime employee of General Motors-Delphi, retiring after 31 years, he then worked part time as a Craftsman salesman at Sears for several years. He was also a proud 50 year member of the Westgate Masonic Lodge #623 and Morning Dawn Masonic Lodge #7. Earl enjoyed spending time with his family, plucking away at his banjo or guitar, bluegrass music, western movies, and watching the 6 o'clock news each night. He was an avid sportsman, with a love of hunting and fishing. In his younger days, he and his family would take motorcycle rides together in the summers, and Earl loved his Harley. Earl will best be remembered for his sense of humor, which he never lost. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his sister Leeann, and his brother Ronnie. Earl was a kind, supportive and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Mae (McQuaid) Dennison of Columbus, Ohio, his son David and daughter-in-law Janette Dennison of Grove City, Ohio, and his two grandchildren, Adam Dennison and Kristen Dennison. Also survived by Ellen Kraner (TFN), sister Linda Vreeland, and several nieces and nephews. Earl will be very dearly missed by many. A Masonic funeral for Earl will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Willis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Reynolds Cemetery; military rites will be provided by the Gallia County Funeral Detail at the cemetery. Friends may call prior to the service from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
