Our Beloved Father, Elmer Fowler, 95, of Gallipolis, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 09, 2008 at the Holzer Senior Care. He was born on April 27, 1912 in Buffalo, West Virginia to the late James C. and Ida Mae Jeffers Fowler. Elmer was a member of Elizabeth Chapel Church; a retired farmer, a retired employee of the Gallipolis City Schools and worked for Turnpike Ford. Elmer is survived by his wife Neva Idell Sanders Fowler to whom he had been married for thirty years; three daughters, Freda Don Marsh of Jane, MO, Ruth Ann Robert Copley of Thurman, and Ellen Wayne Saunders of Vinton; four sons, Clarence Abby Fowler of Ironton, Carl Evelyn Fowler of Crown City, Harold Reda Fowler of Thurman, and David Charmaine Fowler of Worthington, Ohio; a stepson Terry Sanders of Gallipolis; 9 grandchildren, 1 step grandson, 12 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren; His 98 year old sister Lena Legue of Columbus, Ohio survives along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Pearl Viola Hudson Fowler in 1952 and by 3 brothers and by 6 sisters. Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastors Alfred Holley and Randy Carnes. Burial will follow in the Centenary Cemetery.
