Garnet E. Bevan

Garnet E. Bevan, 85, of Crown City, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at her daughter’s home in Crown City. She was born August 18, 1923 in Lawrence County, Ohio, daughter of the late Arnold and Goldie Shaw Sanders. Garnet was married to Dwight B. Bevan and he preceded her in death on August 27, 2003. She was a homemaker and member of Omega Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Rita Bevan of Crown City; four sons, Michael Connie Bevan of Bidwell, Joseph Bevan of Crown City, David Sheila Bevan of Pomeroy and Timothy Jean Bevan of Crown City; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; three sisters, Zenia Evans of Gallipolis, Ivy Beaver of Chillicothe, and Sharon Hank Fasone of Columbus; a brother, Carl Norma Jean Sanders of Gallipolis; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother and sisters, Blaine Sanders, Annabelle Combs, Naomi Sprouse, Sidney Sanders, Audrey Beaver and a brother in infancy. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 26, 2009 at the Willis Funeral Home with the Reverend Joseph Bevan officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, June 25, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. Pallbearers will be John Bevan, Brad Bevan, Brian Bevan, Caleb Bevan, Joel Jagers and Trevor Bevan.
