Gary Lee Dray, Sr., 57, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the Holzer Medical Center. Gary was born on June 7, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio son of the late Vance A. Dray and Rosalee McGuire Dray. He was a US Army veteran serving in Vietnam and earned a Bronze Star, a former telephone lineman for Heyward Associates in Goshen, Ohio, an auto mechanic for Jim Mink Chevrolet-Oldsmobile, a member of the Gallia County Pony Pullers Association. Gary enjoyed his family, drag racing and was a member of Mina Chapel Church. He is survived by his wife Cheryl Warren Dray whom he married on March 25, 1971 in Virginia, a daughter Stephanie “Baby Cakes” and a son Gary A. Dray, Jr. all of Gallipolis, two sisters Patricia Kay Gene Ferrell and Loretta Sue Shaffer both of Gallipolis, five brothers, Bruce Lynn Ramah Dray, Carl Bryan Dray, and Terry Joe Dray all of Gallipolis, Calvin Roy Jackie Dray of Gallipolis Ferry, West Virginia, and Jeffery Allison Kimber Dray of Jackson, Ohio, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. Services will be 1 pm Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Workman officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 from 6-8 pm at Willis Funeral Home. There will be full military rites at the graveside by volunteers of area veteran lodges.
