Gary L. Fisher, 62, of Bidwell, Ohio passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis after an extended illness. Gary was born on November 14, 1950 in Gallipolis, son of the late Wilma E. Cremeans Swisher. He retired from the AEP Gavin Plant and had worked at Cremeans Concrete. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, a founding member of the Springfield Township Volunteer Fire Department; a member of the Centerville Masonic Lodge #371 where he served as Master three times; a member of the Grand Council of Royal Select Masons-Bosworth Council 46, Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio #80, and Ohio Valley Commandery No 24 Knights Templar. Gary was a 1969 Kyger Creek High School Graduate and received his B.S. Degree from Rio Grande College. Gary also officiated high school football games for 42 years. Gary was married to Sherry L. Finney on July 6, 1974 and she survives in Bidwell, along with one daughter Lindsay (Chris) Stout of Bidwell, and one son Nicholas (Mindi) Fisher of Hilliard, Ohio; two grandchildren Caleb John Stout and Kennedy Renee Fisher; two stepsisters, Barbara Plants of Pt. Pleasant, WV and Viola (Clinton) Abshire of Junction City, Ohio; two stepbrothers, John (Metta) Swisher of Grove City, and Jim Swisher of Gallipolis; mother-in-law and father-in-law Betty and John Finney of Gallipolis; brother-in-law Randy Finney of Gallipolis; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Wilma Swisher, two brothers Roger Jay Fisher and Robert Joseph Fisher, his stepfather Allon “Buck” Swisher and a stepbrother Delbert Swisher. Services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Heath Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Rio Grande. Friends may call on Saturday from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be a fireman’s service at the funeral home on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and a Masonic service will follow. Pallbearers will be David Finney, RJ Finney, Charles Smith, Steve Short, John Derrow and Chuck Malone. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Gary’s memory to the Springfield Township
