Gene Golden

Gene Golden, 79, of Gallipolis, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2009 at his residence. He was born September 20, 1930 in Blueridge, Georgia, son of the late Joseph L. and Minnie Jane Tipton Golden. Gene married Elva Jean Dailey on March 5, 1955 and she survives him. He was a retired carpenter, a Korean War Air Force veteran and a member of Patriot Masonic Lodge #496. Surviving are his wife, Elva Jean Golden of Gallipolis; four children, Teresa Fetty of Wilmington, Ohio, Vicki L. Tom Kern of Bidwell, James S. Golden and Jeffrey L. Dixie Golden, all of Gallipolis; six grandchildren, Matthew Fetty, Eric Fetty, Chris Maynard, Meghan Fetty, Jeffrey Golden and Jared Golden; one great granddaughter, Katie Maynard; a brother, Fred Golden of Gallipolis; and two sisters, Jo Brumfield of Lake Susie, Florida and Sue Soevig of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and one brother. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Lusher officiating. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Pallbearers will be children and grandchildren.
