George R. "Richard" Church

George R. “Richard” Church, 84, of Coolville, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at Maple Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation in McArthur, Ohio. Born on July 6, 1935 in Crown City, Ohio, Richard was the son of the late Stanley C. and Clarice Mae Fife Church. Richard graduated from Fairland High School, served in the U.S. Army, and retired from CSX Railroad as a railroad foreman. He loved hunting and being outdoors; Richard also enjoyed walking. Richard is survived by his children, Georgia (Charles) Rogers of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, George Kendall (Amy) Church of Washington, West Virginia, Alan Church of Coolville, Ohio, and Lisa Church of Coolville, Ohio; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Irena Ours of Crown City, Naomi Oxley of Virginia, and Bernice (Wilson) McClure of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by two sisters, Loretta Rankin and Emma Jean Waugh. Due to COVID-19 guidelines and regulations, there will be a private graveside service Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Crown City Cemetery with Pastor Carl Black officiating.
