Georgia Alberta Johnson

Georgia Alberta Johnson, 90, of Crown City, went home to be with Jesus, Friday, June 13, 2008. She was born April 6, 1918 in Lawrence County, Ohio, daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth Poole Henderson. Georgia was married to Everett Oakley Johnson on December 27, 1945 in Gallia County, Ohio and he survives her. She was an employee of Gallipolis Developmental Center, from where she retired and a longtime member of Kings Chapel Church. She leaves behind her loving husband of 62 years, Everett Oakley Johnson of Crown City; one daughter, Edna Ruth Jack Rankin of Crown City; one son, Everett Lee Sandy Johnson of Crown City; five grandchildren, Rebecca Leland Ours, Rodney Jeanette Rankin, Lisa Ernie Meadows, Scott Michelle Rankin, all of Crown City and Dustin Lee Johnson of Huntington, WV; eight great grandchildren, Chad, Kala and Dara Ours, Shane, Hope, and Paige Meadows, Zachary and Kyle Rankin; special caregiver and friend, Rita Boggs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Ora Henderson, Donald Henderson, Henry Henderson, Brady Beaver and one sister, Mary James White. Services will be 1 p.m., Monday, June 16, 2008 at Kings Chapel Church with Rev. Matthew Henry and Rev. Jack Rankin officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens in Miller, Ohio. Friends may call at the Willis Funeral Home on Sunday, June 15, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. Grandsons and Great Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
