Gilbert E. Henry, Jr.

Gilbert E. Henry, Jr., 59, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Born on January 12, 1965 in Gallipolis, Ohio, Gilbert was the son of the late Gilbert E. Henry, Sr. and Ima Jean Moore Henry.  Gilbert was employed by Securitas, working as a security guard at Verizon.  He was a graduate of Gallia Academy High School Class of 1983 and a member of Miracle Temple in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina.  Gilbert was an OSU fan and a devoted follower of Christ.

Gilbert is survived by two daughters, Mandy LaShae Henry of Columbus and Caitlyn Henry (Nicholas Rigel, Jr.) of Columbus; brothers, Robert W. Henry (Tiffany Litchfield) of Apple Grove, West Virginia and Matthew (Missy) Henry of Gallipolis, Ohio; forever friend, April Henson of Columbus, Ohio; family friend, Emily Spires; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members; grand dog, Malachai; and grand cat, Cuteness.

The funeral service for Gilbert will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Hood officiating.  Burial will follow in Swan Creek Cemetery.  Friends and family may call prior to the service from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be Ryan Henry, Joshua Henry, Matthew Henry, Nicholas Rigel, Jr., Chris Henson, and TJ Young.
