Gladys Virginia Casto, 84, of Gallipolis, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at the Holzer Medical Center. Gladys was born on August 28, 1923 in Cabell County, West Virginia to the late Wilbur and Margaret Edwards Mercer. She was a homemaker; a member of the Christ United Methodist Church where she served as a communion steward; a member of the Gallia County Senior Citizens. Gladys enjoyed bird watching, gardening and crocheting. She is survived by one daughter Gloria Oscar Davies of Gallipolis, two sons, Ronnie Anna Pollock of Bucyrus, and Mike Pollock of Gallipolis, eight grandchildren, Brent, Tim, Jeff and David Davies, Devin, Scott, Joe and Mickey Pollock; eighteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including a special nieces Pat Yuhas of Bucyrus. Gladys was married to Rev. Pearl A. Casto and he preceded her in death on June 30, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and by three grandchildren, Rick Pollock, Terry Pollock and Diane Hensley; and by two sisters and by one brother. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastors Kandy Nuce, Alfred Holley and Jane Ann Miller. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Hope Mausoleum in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Friday, April 18, 2008 from 6-8 pm at Willis Funeral Home.
