Granville 'Grant' E. Parsons

Granville 'Grant' E. Parsons, 80, of Middleport, formerly of Cheshire, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2008 at the Holzer Medical Center Emergency Room. He was born August 21, 1927 in Mason County, West Virginia, son of the late James Owen and Rose B. Snodgrass Parsons. He was married to Donna Clagg on January 28, 1989 and she survives him. Grant retired from Owens Illinois Glass in Columbus, Ohio. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Pt. Pleasant, WV and served in the Army National Guard. Surviving are his wife, Donna Parsons of Middleport; three daughters, Margaret Shively of Chillicothe, Jeanie Climer of Ashville, and Mary Dave Frye of Jackson; Kenneth Theresa Parsons of Amanda, Ernie Parsons of Ashville, Perry Tammy Parsons of Amanda, Kevin Parsons of Columbus and Mark Parsons of Amanda; three stepdaughters, Cynthia Wray of Florida, Beth Tom Barry of Rio Grande, and Paula Bonecutter of Pt. Pleasant, WV; two stepsons, Jason Heather Brumfield of Gallipolis and Peyton Materne of Rio Grande; twenty grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; three sisters, Edith Ringler of Shinston, WV, Esther Gayle of Ashley, Ohio and Marie Heath of Apache Junction, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters. Services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at the Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Frye officiating. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. Family will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
