Helen Zella "Betty" Gray

Helen Zella “Betty” Gray, 85, of Chapin, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2013 at her residence. She was born February 20, 1928 in Nellis, West Virginia, daughter of the late Kenneth Carlton and Zella Grace Pauley Rust. Betty married Sam C. Gray on March 29, 1947 and he survives her. She was a graduate of Sherman High School in Seth, West Virginia. Surviving are her husband, Sam C. Gray of Chapin, South Carolina; two children, Sam C. (Jacquetta) Gray Jr. of Chapin, South Carolina and Ronald G. (Cindy) Gray of Warrenton, Missouri; a son-in-law, Wally Beider of Virginia; seven grandchildren, Paul D. Gray, Melissa A. Gray, Wendy G. English, Anthony D. Gray, Steven (Todd) Gray, Ronnie Short, and Scott Beider; and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Gail Beider and a great grandson, Bryan Paul Gray. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastors Joe Pritchard and Wilbur Slack officiating. Entombment will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens, Chapel of Hope Mausoleum. Friends may call from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday.
