Henry J. Sheets

Henry J. Sheets, 94, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Monday, June 02, 2008 at his residence. Henry was a retired elementary school teacher and principal, a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Rodney; State Teachers Retirement Association and the Elementary Principal's Association. He was also a World War II, U.S. Army Veteran. He was born on July 8, 1913 in Crown City, Ohio; son of the late Claude B. and Bessie Woodyard Sheets. Henry was married to Louise B. Bennett Sheets on June 26, 1949 in Minford, Ohio and she preceded him in death on October 10, 1998. He was also preceded in death by a son Harold E. Bennett, a brother Kenneth L. Sheets and a sister Jewell A. Niday. Henry is survived by his wife Pauline Johnson Sheets of Gallipolis, and by one grandson and four great grandchildren; a stepdaughter Annette Maxwell of Columbus; two sisters-in-law Ruth Swords of Minford, Ohio and Helen Allen of Lucasville, Ohio, and by two nephews. Funeral services will be 1 pm Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Lusher officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Hope Mausoleum at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 from 6-8 pm at the Willis Funeral Home.
