Herman L. Dillon

Herman L. Dillon was born on March 21, 1935, in Plus, West Virginia. He passed away peacefully at Holzer Senior Care Center on September 15, 2021, at the age of 86. Herman was a graduate of both Marshall University and the University of Pittsburgh. Herman was the Director of the Physical Therapy Department at Holzer Hospital for several years and began his own private practice, Herman L. Dillon and Associates in 1977. Herman and his former wife, Delores Dillon, were the owners of The Medical Shoppe, Inc. for many years. Herman worked for several home health agencies and nursing homes in Gallia, Jackson, Lawrence, and Vinton counties during his career and loved the patients he served. He also worked as a Physical Therapist in Lady Lake, Florida prior to his retirement and move back to Gallipolis. Herman was a member of the Gallipolis Lions Club and Masonic Lodge/Shrine Club. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for many years. Herman was preceded in death by his first wife, Dolores Rowland Dillon, who passed away in 1998. He is survived by his wife Judith Dillon, his daughter Dr. Deborah Dillon Grant (Scott) and grandsons Rob (Rebecca) and Tyler Grant. In addition, he leaves behind a great grandson, Robert Hayden Grant. He also leaves behind his son, Mark Dillon (Cathy) and two granddaughters, Misty (Paul) Bradbury and Mandy (Nathan) Robinson and their two children, Gabe and Liam. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, there will be no visitation or service. The graveside service for family will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Bob Hood officiating.
