Hester Jane Phillips

Hester Jane Elkins Phillips, 71, of Gallipolis, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Ohio State University Hospital. She was born on July 1, 1949 in Ranger, West Virginia, daughter of the late Arthur and Mollie Cochran Elkins. She was a graduate of Hannan Trace High School and a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed reading Romance novels. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger Phillips; and siblings, Mack A. Elkins, William Estes Ellkins, Paul Edward Elkins, Martha Stanley, and Glenna Triplett Elkins. Hester is survived by her children, Anita E. Hale of Chillicothe, Ohio and William Edward Fisher of Nabb, Indiana; grandson, Alexander Fisher; sisters, Anna (Stanley) Jones of Gallipolis, Elizabeth Elkins of Bidwell, Mary Elkins of Chillicothe, and Dorcas Prichard of Deputy, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
