Homer Wesley Johnson, Jr.

Homer Wesley Johnson, Jr. 64 of Gallipolis, Ohio went home to be the Lord on Sunday, August 23, 2009 at his residence. He was born on April 3, 1945 in Gallipolis to the late Homer and Margaret Springer Johnson. Homer served in the US Army for three years and was also a plumber for several years. He was married to Judy Leckenby Johnson on August 1, 1964 at Ft. Carson, Colorado and she survives in Gallipolis. Also surviving are three children, a daughter Lynn Robie of Gallipolis, two sons Troy Laurie Johnson of Brentwood, CA, and Keith Angie Johnson of Gallipolis, five grandchildren, Michael Robie, Kayla and Noah Johnson, and Troy Jr. and Megan Johnson, two sisters Joann Brumfield of Gallipolis, and Regina Adkins of Gallipolis. He was preceded in death by a sister Mary Jaques and a brother Melvin Johnson and by his parents. Graveside services will be held 3 pm Thursday August 27, 2009 at the White Oak Cemetery with his son Troy officiating. There will not be any calling hours according to his wishes. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Vinton Baptist Church food pantry. There will be a flag presentation at the cemetery by volunteers of area veteran lodges.
